Reliving My Association With Google!
Thank you Google! It's a bit humbling, yet very personal and even more intimidating feeling when I go down memory lane and realize that you have seen this Giant of an Organization literally be born in front of my very eyes. Yet it gives me a sense of pride that I have been associated with Google since then but actually started using its services quite late.
I Have been working on the Internet long before Google was founded. Though the domain google.com was registered on September 15, 1997, they formally incorporated their company, on September 4, 1998 in their friend Susan Wojcicki's garage in Menlo Park, California. Those were the day when Searches were a pain with AltaVista and AskJeeves (Now Ask.com) came in handy to find anything you wanted. I will not go into the History of how the Search Industry worked or even how Google was founded etc, as that will be dealt in a separate post coming up shortly on my other Blog.
It took all of over 23 years of searching, reading, understanding, digesting, applying all that knowledge to get to where I am today as a Blogger and Writer. And how happy I am that Google has been the biggest source of help for me in this long journey.
Going down memory lane from the day I first created my Gmail account way back I think on 17th December 2008 , then my Blogger account almost immediately, and the slow and steady use of all other products and Apps provided by Google has been a challenging yet satisfying experience. Being a Self-Made and Self-Learning man It was indeed difficult for me to work my way on this "Trial And Error" learning curve.
That is where I profusely Thank Google for their Help facility, Community on each of their products that literally taught me like a kid. Besides this I have a whole lot of Friends, Family and Well wishers to thank, who at every step were there to give me ideas, suggestions, comment on my work and even give that much needed critical appreciation of all the work I did.
Like a child who is overjoyed with a New toy, playing around with all the Google Products was an experience that was painful yet rewarding. Having been a prolific reader, writer with immensely creative thinking, Blogger was the best thing that could have happened to me. I set out like a rocket that shoots out of its launching pad, it journey only controlled by those at the control center.
I could go on for ever recounting all my experiences, but for this Post it would suffice to limit my experiences in Blogging. I created Blogs on probably every conceivable topic I could write on; not realizing that it was my folly. As time went by I got my Google Adsense Account created when I got to know that this Blogging could become a source of earning for me. There began the real learning experience.
Like every good system and service there are Policies and Guidelines set to perform and operate your Account, be it your Gmail , Your Blogger or your Adsense or any other account. Through the active interactions, notification and mails that I received from Google Support and Help I realized where I was going. "Less Is More" - and Google has always been very specific and strict on its Quality Standards and Policy Guidelines which I respected the most.
From almost over a 100 possible Blogs that I created ever since I started Blogging I had to review each of them, understand the nuances of Blogging, How to get the best out of Blogging, and more importantly how to make them compatible with Google Adsense to match their Policy Guidelines and monetization guidelines. It was as I said a painful transformation.
Like a "Phoenix" that rises out of its ashes in a newly born Avatar, today I stand fresh and raring to go with only about 8 Blogs that will Bring Quality Original Content to my valuable readers. With the creation of my own YouTube Account and Channel, uploading my own Videos and integrating this whole setup, it has been a rewarding experience.
My active association with Google and Facebook have been over 12 years now, and with my work on innumerable Social Bookmarking sites which I will write to you about in my sequel of posts, my Journey of Blogging, Writing, Video creation, and sharing the same to my valued readers has been the most rewarding experience both emotionally as well as a source of earning for me.
We all know that Google has 7 products with over 1 billion users: Gmail, Chrome, Maps, Search, YouTube, Google Play Store and Android, which just hit 2 billion active devices. Add to this the respective Apps they have like Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Photos, Google Shopping, Google Duo, amazing Translation and Transliteration Services, and above all Google My Business with its amazing Community there is a whole plethora of services that I have yet to get fully conversant with even if I use almost all of them. Each of the products is a Goldmine and getting to know them to their fullest potential is my biggest challenge.
Once again I would like to Thank Google for all that they have done for me personally and for all the Netizens as we would call them. There is a long way to go before I could use their products to the best of my abilities, and I assure you that I will share those experiences with you through my upcoming posts.
